We adore paper. While your florist is admiring the blooms and your caterer is all about getting the icing the perfect shade of blush, we can think of nothing more beautiful than a wedding invitation printed on quality paper that is just the right weight, texture and feel.
Your wedding guests will be excited to see the invitation to your wedding for sure. But when it arrives perfectly presented on luxury paper, the feeling evoked can be compared to sipping the finest wine or catching the subtle exotic scent of an expensive fragrance. To us, paper is poetic, beautiful, and very important as the first hint of what your wedding guests can expect when they attend your best day ever.
So how do you choose the right wedding invitation paper and for the rest of the stationery? Let's look at what is on offer, and if you fall in love with several options, we do have sample sets we can post to help with the decision.
The color, texture and printing method you desire to create the look you want for your wedding stationery needs to be considered. If you have already decided on your venue, wedding theme and color palette for the wedding day, it will help you decide. If not, your invitations might inspire your creative decisions later on in the wedding planning process.
For example, if you are having a casual garden wedding with an eco-friendly minimalistic vibe, you might go for digital print light-colored paper with a matching invitation and a coloured paper stock wedding insert to add a splash of color. Or, if you are having a chapel wedding with an elegant, high-class style, you might prefer specialty print paper with several foil print wedding invitation inserts along with the wedding invitation all wrapped up in a navy envelope with the name and address in white ink print.
We have environmentally-friendly paper for a digital print in gorgeous colors and finishes, including blush, linen, metallic and matt. Our specialty print paper is a little bit fancy all the way from Europe and Japan. The water-ink colored paper collection is dreamy too in violet, blue, grey, burgundy, and green shades. Then we go bold with the print on wood range. Eucalypt is sustainably sourced and looks as wonderful as it feels. Finally, our color stock + foil from Europe is a sophisticated option in red, black, navy and vellum.
We offer white ink print that looks dramatic on colored paper including wedding invitations, save-the-date cards and RSVPs. The papers for wedding invitations used are 290 gms Kraft, 180 gsm Vellum and 270-300 gsm Colour stock (available in cobalt, aqua, black, navy, green, violet, burgundy and grey). White print ink can't be applied on blush paper.
We can print on wood presented with a 1.5 mm thickness on Eucalypt. If you are having a rustic forest wedding, this invitation will transport your guests to the ceremony scene in advance as they hold the print on wood invitation.
For Letterpress, we use paper that is 250 or 500 gsm Old Mill.
For metallic print, we use paper that is 300 gsm matt, 350 gsm linen and 350 gsm premium.
For digital print we use matt, metallic, linen, kraft, blush and cotton.
Finally, our specialty real foil comes Paperlust Premium 380gsm paper , colour stock + foil 270 gsm and 500gsm, Linen 500 gsm and 300 and 600 gsm cotton.
Wedding Invitation Inserts
Next, you need to choose the paper for the wedding invitation inserts, which is an extra card to share important information that isn't included on the invitation. It might be a map, pre or post-wedding event info or a message of love and gratitude from you to your wedding guests. So it's quite special, like the icing on the cake or the kiss after the vows.
Wedding invitation inserts can include RSVP Cards, an information card which can include all the info you need to know about the reception, accommodation and even directions & a map, and finally a wishing well card. If you are having a destination wedding, you will definitely be using wedding invitation inserts because there is so much info to share with your special guests.
We hope this has helped you decide on the right paper for your wedding stationery. As always, the Paperlust team is available to help every step of the way.
