Wedding invitations you edit and order online
Wedding invitations are printed cards personalised online from the designs in the grid above. A designer sends a proof before the order is printed in Melbourne and delivered to you. Couples order one card per household, not one per guest. The Linear design is a single-sided 178 mm x 127 mm card printed digitally on Paperlust Matte 300 gsm and costs A$280 for 100 cards with white envelopes included.
How wedding invitation templates work
A template is a prepared layout with editable text and colours. Every design in the grid above is one, and you create your own invitation by editing the words, names, date, venue, fonts and colours in the online editor before you place your order.
If the editor cannot do something, write the request in with the order and the designer applies it at proof stage. Moving or resizing part of the layout is handled that way. New custom artwork such as a monogram or a map is quoted separately before any work begins.
Here is how to make your own wedding invites from one of these templates.
- Choose a design from the grid above that matches the style you want.
- Edit the wording, fonts and colours online for your own names, date and venue.
- Place the order when the layout reads the way you want it.
- Receive the free digital proof from a designer.
- Approve the proof once you are happy.
- Paperlust prints your invites on card and delivers them.
No download, print-at-home file or emailed invitation is supplied, so your order is printed on card and delivered. Because the wording is fully editable, one design can be reworded as a reception-only invitation.
Printing methods and prices
Wedding invitation printing at Paperlust is done in Melbourne in six print methods: digital printing, metallic print, white ink, flat foil, letterpress and foil stamp.
- Digital printing is a full colour method that suits illustration, photos, watercolour and gradients.
- Metallic print adds a metallic toner shimmer printed together with the colour artwork and is not a foil.
- White ink is opaque ink printed on dark or coloured card.
- Flat foil applies metallic foil with heat and pressure, needs no custom die and leaves the surface flat.
- Letterpress presses ink into thick cotton paper and leaves an impression you can feel.
- Foil stamp uses a custom die to press metallic foil into the card and gives shine plus an impression.
All six rows below are the same card size and quantity: a 178 mm x 127 mm single-sided rectangle, priced for 100 wedding invites with white envelopes included.
| Print method | Example design | Size | Paper | Price for 100 | Production time after proof approval |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Digital printing | Linear | 178 mm x 127 mm | Matte 300 gsm | A$280 | 3 to 5 working days |
| Metallic print | Modern Mode | 178 mm x 127 mm | Matte 300 gsm | A$382 | 3 to 5 working days |
| White ink | Simple Script | 178 mm x 127 mm | Black 270 gsm | A$433 | 3 to 5 working days |
| Flat foil | Wildest Dreams | 178 mm x 127 mm | Matte 300 gsm | A$481 | 7 to 10 working days |
| Letterpress | Linear | 178 mm x 127 mm | Wild Cotton 300 gsm | A$542 | 20 to 23 working days |
| Foil stamp | Eucalyptus | 178 mm x 127 mm | Wild Cotton 300 gsm | A$802 | 20 to 23 working days |
You can browse the letterpress designs and the foil designs on their own. Digital printing is the lowest-priced method in the table, so cheap invitation designs are the place to look when cost matters.
If you have a finished design of your own, such as a Canva file, upload it through the quote form on the printing service for your artwork. A quote is returned within 1 to 2 business days, and your artwork can be printed in any of the six print methods. It gets a designer proof before printing like any other order.
Card sizes, shapes and paper
The standard flat invitation card is 178 mm x 127 mm, portrait or landscape, and all six table examples use that size. The Byron design is printed in white ink on Black 270 gsm and die-cut into an arch shape at 178 mm x 127 mm, single-sided, and costs A$610 for 100 with production 5 to 7 working days after proof approval. The Evergreen design is printed in white ink on Seedling 300 gsm coloured card, double-sided, as a gatefold that is 178 mm x 254 mm flat and folds to 178 mm x 127 mm, and costs A$661 for 100. Other shapes in the range include double arch, half arch and rounded corners.
Invitations can be printed single-sided or double-sided. Linear in digital printing is A$3.00 per card for 100 double-sided cards. Paper options differ by design, and each product lists its own papers.
The paper choices below are the ones each example design offers.
- Linear in digital printing offers Matte 300 gsm, Linen 300 gsm, Metallic 300 gsm, Wild Cotton 300 gsm, Vellum 180 gsm and Matte Double T 600 gsm.
- Modern Mode in metallic print offers Matte 300 gsm and Linen 300 gsm.
- Simple Script in white ink is printed on Black 270 gsm.
- Wildest Dreams in flat foil offers Matte 300 gsm and Matte Double T 600 gsm.
- Linear in letterpress and Eucalyptus in foil stamp both offer Wild Cotton 300 gsm and Wild Cotton Double T 600 gsm.
- White ink designs on coloured card, such as Byron, list Black 270 gsm and Forest Green, Harvest, Pear Green, Burnt Orange, Oat, Lilac and Chocolate, each 300 gsm.
Style collections
The style collections group the designs by look, so they are a good place to gather wedding invitation ideas. Minimalist designs have clean layouts and suit a simple or modern look. Classic designs are traditional and formal, the choice for an elegant look. Rustic designs cover barn and country style, while floral designs contain botanical and watercolour artwork. Vintage designs include art deco and retro designs.
Stationery that goes with the invitations
A wedding stationery suite is made up of the invitations and the other wedding cards sent before them and with them. Linear is also sold as a save the date card, so one design can carry through more than one piece. Order save the date cards before the invitations, wedding RSVP cards to send with the invitation for the guest's reply, and wedding signs for the day itself.
Paperlust does not sell preset packages. Each piece is ordered and priced on its own, so a suite is built by ordering the pieces you want. The other matching pieces offered are menus, place cards, table numbers, thank you cards, wedding programs and seating charts.
Proof, production and delivery
A designer prepares a free digital proof and sends it within 1 to 2 business days of ordering. You can request unlimited rounds of edits on that proof, and nothing is printed until you approve it. Production starts after final proof approval, and the table above lists the working days for each print method.
Delivery within Australia is free with StarTrack Premium. After dispatch, parcels usually arrive the next business day to metro addresses, while regional and rural addresses take longer.
Samples and the print guarantee
The sample pack is A$5 and holds printed examples for feeling paper weights and seeing the print methods. A swatch kit is A$20 and shows every paper and foil tone, and a printed sample of a chosen design in digital print is A$15. A printed sample shows your chosen design before you commit to the full run. All samples go by regular post, 5 to 7 business days.
Every print order is covered by the 100% Print Happiness Guarantee. If a print fault occurs, Paperlust reprints first, then offers a credit or refund.
Invitation wording
A wedding invitation has to tell the guest the names, the date, the time, the venue and how to reply. Worded examples for different hosts and tones are in the wording guide with examples.
Frequently Asked Questions
With the Linear design in digital printing, Matte 300 gsm costs A$4.14 per card at 50 cards, A$2.80 per card at 100 cards and A$2.04 per card at 200 cards for single-sided cards. The per-card price falls as the quantity rises. The other five print methods are priced at their 100-card quantities in the table above.
The minimum order is 10 cards for digital printing, metallic print, white ink and flat foil. Letterpress and foil stamp have a minimum of 50 cards. At the 10-card minimum, Linear in digital printing on Matte 300 gsm is A$7.77 per card for single-sided cards.
Order one invitation per address, not one per person. Count the addresses or groups you will post to, because couples sharing one home receive a single card between them. This keeps the quantity close to the number of envelopes you will actually send.
No. Every order is printed on card and delivered. Digital printing is a print method using a digital press, and editing online means you personalise the design in the browser before it is printed. There is no download, no print-at-home file and no emailed invitation.
The first proof arrives 1 to 2 business days after you order. After final proof approval, digital printing takes 3 to 5 working days and letterpress takes 20 to 23 working days. The table lists the production time for each of the other four methods. Delivery then follows dispatch, and the time you take to approve the proof is on top.
Yes, for some methods. An expedite fee of A$50 per order shortens production to 1 to 2 business days for digital printing and white ink, and to 3 to 5 working days for flat foil. Flat foil expedite is not available on Vellum paper, and expedite is not available for letterpress or foil stamp.
With flat foil, the finished card has a smooth metallic finish in gold, silver, rose gold or copper, and the foil sits flat because no custom die is used. Foil stamp leaves a pressed impression under the metallic shine. Production is 7 to 10 working days for flat foil and 20 to 23 working days for foil stamp. The minimum order is 10 cards for flat foil and 50 cards for foil stamp.
White envelopes are included with every invitation order. Guest addressing is A$0.35 per envelope in colour and A$0.20 per envelope in black and white. The whole order is delivered to one address, and you then post the invitations to guests yourself.
The guarantee does not cover text errors you approved in the proof. For text errors, Paperlust helps fix them and shares the reprint cost. A claim for a print fault must be made within 30 days of dispatch.
Yes. Orders outside Australia are sent with DHL and take 2 to 4 business days in transit after dispatch. A shipping charge applies on smaller orders. These transit days follow production and do not include proof approval.
