Arch & Curve

The Challenge

For this design challenge we're looking for innovative designers who can create elegant, sculptural wedding invitations that break out of the rectangle. The competition focuses on die-cut shapes — arches, double arches, half arches, and waves — using curve and silhouette as the hero of the design rather than an afterthought. We want designs where the shape *is* the statement: modern, architectural, and unmistakably contemporary.

Feel free to play with bold typography, soft gradients, botanical illustration, or minimalist compositions — whatever lets the curved silhouette speak.

We've put together a mood board for you to get a bit of an idea as to what we're looking for, along with all our paper stocks, foil swatches, and die-cut templates.

Challenge guidelines: 

- Work off the die-cut templates found in the designer kit (Arch, Double Arch, Half Arch, Wave — all sizes available)

- Save files as high-quality PNGs for submission (so the die-cut silhouette is visible)

- Download the designer kit for more details

Required cards:

- 1x Wedding Invitation (Arch, Double Arch, Half Arch, or Wave die-cut — choice of 127×178mm, 107×140mm, or 107×200mm tall)

Optional cards (strongly encouraged):

- 1x Save The Date (matching die-cut shape from the same family)

- 1x RSVP card (can be flat or matching die-cut)

How to enter:

- Download the designer kit and follow it’s instructions

- Submit your designs through the design challenge page

- You will be notified when voting opens

- Support other creatives by voting on their designs

Judging Criteria: 

The winners and runners up are a mixture of public voting and the Paperlust judging team. The top three public voted designs will be assessed by the Paperlust creative and design team on the criteria of design quality, response to brief, technical considerations and saleability.

The Winners receive:

- 1st place will receive a 12% commission on every sale for an entire year and professional photography of their designs.

- 2nd & 3rd places will receive a 10% commission on every sale for an entire year.

- Runner up designs (if selected) will be listed on Paperlust for sale as featured designs (receiving 6% commission on every sale).
