Postcard Save the Dates
Save the date postcards are wedding announcements printed as postcards that travel without an envelope. Couples announcing the date ahead of the invitations order them.
The Momento Postcard is a photo design with a Polaroid look, digital printing on Paperlust Matte paper, and a size of 140mm x 107mm (5.5 x 4.2 inches). It is printed on both sides and costs $1.48 per card at 100 cards.
The Address Side
These postcards ship with no envelope because the guest's details go on the card itself. On a double-sided design, the front carries the artwork or photo. The back holds the couple's names, a note that a formal invitation will follow, and space after To: for the guest's name and address. On a single-sided design, the printed face holds the announcement and the To: space together, while the other face is left unprinted.
For a single-sided design, the online editor lets you add a printed back through the Create back side of design button. You add your own text boxes to the new back, and adding this back changes the price. You can remove it again if the single-sided layout works better. If you want a design element on the back, describe it in the special requests box, and the designer prepares it for the first proof. Paperlust ships the printed order to you, and you mail the postcards to guests yourself.
What the Postcards Cost
The table below shows the save the date postcards on this page with their print method, printed sides, size and price per card at 100 cards. Because US prices move with the exchange rate, the amount shown on each design page is its current price.
| Design | Print method | Printed sides | Size | Price per card at 100 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Momento Postcard | Digital printing | Both sides | 140mm x 107mm | $1.48 |
| Olive Postcard | Digital printing | Front only | 140mm x 107mm | $1.33 |
| Rose Et Gris Postcard | Flat foil | Both sides | 140mm x 107mm | $3.62 |
| Classic Postcard | Flat foil | Front only | 140mm x 107mm | $3.36 |
Front-only designs cost less per card than double-sided ones, and bigger quantities lower the price per card. Flat foil costs more than digital printing, and there is no envelope cost on a postcard. The cheapest figure on this page is the Olive Postcard with front-only printing at $1.16 per card at 200 cards.
Designs, Papers and Printing
The grid includes photo designs such as Momento Postcard and Delilah Postcard, text-led designs, and flat foil designs like Rose Et Gris Postcard and Classic Postcard. The postcard save the dates in the grid range from a Polaroid photo look to clean foil and text-forward layouts.
These postcards are printed in Melbourne. Digital printing creates a flat printed image, and flat foil applies metallic foil flat with no die and no impression pressed into the card.
On digital designs, the papers include Matte, a bright white uncoated sheet that suits photos, and some designs may offer Linen, Metallic, Luxe, or Wild Cotton. Flat foil designs use only Paperlust Heavy, a thick white stock with a smooth coated matte finish.
Personalizing and Proofs
Each design here is a template, a finished layout you personalize online rather than a blank file. You can change the wording, font type, font size, the photo on photo designs, a printed back, and guest names. Anything the editor cannot do becomes a special request at the proof stage, and text that does not fit is resolved by the designer during proofing.
- Choose a design and open its template.
- Change the wording, fonts, and photo if the design uses one.
- Add guest names on designs that allow them.
- Place the order and check the proof from the designer.
- Approve the proof to send the cards to print and shipping.
Your proof is free and comes from a designer, with no cap on edit rounds. The printing does not start until you give final approval. For wording ideas, see the save the date wording guide.
Shipping and Mailing
Shipping costs a flat $27.50 on orders under $350 and is free at $350 or more. Paperlust sends the order to your US address by DHL, with delivery in 2 to 4 business days after dispatch. Import duties and taxes for the US are paid by Paperlust, so the order reaches you with no balance due.
Mail the save the date postcards 6 to 8 months before the wedding, or 9 to 12 months ahead when guests need to book travel and accommodation. Count one postcard for each household or mailing group on your guest list, not one for every person. For other save the date formats, including card designs, see the save the date collection. The wedding invitation follows later with the full details.

Yes. The Add Guest Names tool works on the digital postcards. It is not available on Paperlust Heavy, the only paper of Rose Et Gris Postcard and Classic Postcard. There is a small fee per card, shown on the product page, and names can be added or edited until the order is approved for print.

A designer sends the first proof within 1 to 2 business days of your order. After approval, digital printing needs 3 to 5 working days, and flat foil needs 7 to 10 working days. Shipping time is counted separately after dispatch, and an earlier approval moves delivery forward.
If a print fault or damage on arrival occurs, the 100% Print Happiness Guarantee applies. You can claim within 30 days of dispatch. The first remedy is a reprint of the same item, or another paper or print type of similar value. After that, account credit or a refund is offered. If you approved incorrect wording on the proof, that error is not covered.
