The Challenge

It’s the big birthdays that our clients get excited about the most: those huge milestones, the big 50 or the big 90th as well as those sneaky surprise birthday parties that friends and family organise for their loved ones. We want this design challenge to focus on high quality design to suit all parties and styles, while still following our guidelines. We’ve researched what’s hot and popular in the birthday invitation category and created a moodboard for you to look at. While photo cards are the most popular for adult birthday invites we want to see a combination of modern and classic design styles. Please use stock images for any photocard and match the photo to the right birthday age. An inspiration PDF file, along with our templates, are provided in the designer kit for you to follow. You can design just 1 or submit up to 3 high quality and trend conscious designs. Happy designing and good luck!

- Do not include foil over the image
- Save files as high quality JPEGs for submission

- Submit your designs through the design challenge page
- You will be notified when voting opens
- Support other creatives by voting on their designs
Judging Criteria:
The winners and runners up are a mixture of public voting and the Paperlust judging team. The top five public voted designs will be assessed by the Paperlust creative and design team on the criteria of design quality, response to brief, technical considerations and saleability.
The Winners receive:
- 1st place will receive 12% commission on every sale for an entire year and professional photography of their designs
- 2nd & 3rd places will receive 10% commission on every sale for an entire year
- Runner up designs (if selected) will be listed on Paperlust for sale as featured designs (receiving 6% commission on every sale)
